BVM Sisters Share Their Dear Carmel Home
In this article, the BVM Sisters share their plans for a senior living community at their Mt. Carmel home. Their present challenge is to creatively continue their mission of making God’s love known through service to others while providing care for their sisters in a community setting. Their demographics tell them that they will need to continue caring for their sisters for at least 30 more years. They needed help providing that care and their facilities will be underutilized unless they make changes. They formed their future planning committee and hired the REALM Group. Robin Eggert, Stuart Skinner and the team from REALM earned their gratitude by introducing BVM to the women and men of Presbyterian Health & Services, one of the Midwest’s largest providers of housing and care for older adults. In collaboration with Presbyterian Homes & Services, the senior living community will allow the BVM Sisters to remain within their home campus while providing senior living options to others in the Dubuque area as their health and living needs change.
